G.R.I.E.F. Trailer

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

In a world overrun with hoodlums, criminals and vagabonds— griefers — one government agency rises to take a stand against an abomination that threatens the very existence of Matchmaking.

This is a trailer for our new Halo mini-series that should be hitting next month, titled, as you all know, G.R.I.E.F. It’s going to be an action/comedy series with a heavy emphasis on the action. We’re excited about it, and you should be too.

Stay tuned to the site for some more cool announcements and extras this week (some of it TLW related) that you definitely don’t want to miss. Huzzah!

Edit: Much thanks to Burnie from Rooster Teeth for the shout out. You all should go check out Ep 12 of Reconstruction.

Things to Come…

Friday, August 15th, 2008

So in two weeks, Daniel and I will be flying out to Seattle to partake in PAX. For those of you don’t know, PAX is the Penny Arcade Expo and it is a glorious celebration in gaming and gamers. There will be a number of awesome things to do, including seeing Rooster Teeth, Jonathan Coulton, a bevy of unreleased games and hours of other fine entertainments. To check out the full line up of the nerdery, click here. Looks wild.

Anywho, we’re busy fist-pumping about that, and excited to get out there and say hey to some folks. Other things we’re excited about include Web Zeroes, which is now getting closer to completion. In addition, we’re nearing the launch of our new site(s) as well as the trailer for GRIEF, part of which was filmed tonight.

Much thanks to all you dudes who participated. Some screenies:

The Hero Shots

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Just thought I’d drop in with a few house-cleaning items. Work on Web Zeroes is progressing rather smoothly. Kind of weird seeing our faces on screen instead of silly dudes bobbing their heads and using radio commands.

We recorded some rather interesting things over the weekend that I think you all will enjoy, whenever it is that they come to fruition. And no, none of it is the commentary for Episode 3, unfortunately. We’re going to have to wait on that for awhile until Daniel is back in town, as he’s currently in the middle of a 6 week editing gig in Dallas. Yes, he’s left us again. But our traveling editing minstrel will be back someday soon.

In addition, production on G.R.I.E.F. is about to go into full effect. It’s a Halo 3 action/comedy series (emphasis on the action), and we’re pretty pumped about moving forward on it. Hopefully you guys will be seeing a trailer for that at some point in the near future. In the meantime, enjoy these photos:

New Outtakes

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

So it’s been a pretty cool weekend. Daniel and Nick went to see Jace and a bunch of other friends from college while I stayed home and played tons of GTA IV. We also released our new Halo 3 short, The GunStop Way, which has been received well. While a lot of it is exaggeration, I still found it crazy how many people have apparently had similar experiences with the unnamed video game retailer.

A lot of folks have also been asking about the voice of GunFly. That’s Ty. You’ve heard his voice before in Episodes 9, 11 and 12 of The Leet World.

Here for your enjoyment is a new sampling of our audible screw-ups. Our rule of thumb is that we like to release audio outtakes for every two episodes, simply because one episode wouldn’t provide enough material to produce something worthwhile. Even though Episode 11 didn’t have much dialogue, Episode 12 more than made up for it. It seems the extra time in the booth can give a man a taste of closet fever.

How bad is the fever? You’ll just have to listen and find out. Right-click and select “save as” to download.

More filming tonight. An Episode 13 update is coming in the near future.

The GunStop Way

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Ever needed a weapon desperately, only to be told by the retailer that you couldn’t buy one without a pre-order? Or perhaps you keep wondering where all of the mom-and-pop gun and ammo stores went to? Then perhaps you’re familiar with GunStop, the dominant weapons retailer on XBox Live. This is a short filmed with the Halo 3 engine. For all you gamers that have had the pleasure of dealing with the store that is being parodied in this video, we trust that you can relate to some of the experiences inside.

As with our other shorts, this isn’t the place for Episode Thirteen discussion. There will be more news coming soon.

Enjoy!
